Fast food fights: Why do they happen?

The Camden area could soon enjoy a Big Mac meal around the clock with plans for Narellan McDonald’s to operate 24/7.

McDonalds’ Australia last Friday lodged a proposal to Camden Council for the Narellan eatery to operate 24 hours a day.

The restaurant, located on the corner of Camden Valley Way and Narellan Rd, is currently open from 5am to midnight from Thursday to Saturday, closing at 11pm every other day.

If the green light was given to the extended hours, the Narellan restaurant would follow the footsteps of its Mt Annan counterpart which has operated 24/7 for a number of years.

McDonald’s Australia did not respond to questions from the Chronicle before deadline today, with one of the questions asking what inspired the proposed change in hours.

Narellan McDonald’s also provides the popular McDelivery service, the door-to-door delivery of food and drink by Uber Eats.

The Narellan fast food restaurant last changed its operating hours more than a decade ago, when it shifted its opening time from 7am to 5am.

There are seven McDonald’s restaurants operating in the Camden local government area, with the newest restaurant at Spring Farm opening for the first time last October.
