Cobbitty may soon welcome a multimillion-dollar shopping centre, with a neighbourhood centre proposed for the recently-approved Oxley Ridge Cobbitty estate.
The first stage of the shopping precinct, valued at $11.7 million, would feature an ALDI supermarket and eight specialty stores, bordering The Northern Rd near Oran Park.
The development has been proposed by Cobbitty 1, a party entity of Sydney-based and foreign-backed property company Boyuan Holdings Limited (BHL).
BHL spokesman Adam Pearce said the shopping precinct was inspired by the region’s heritage.
“The neighbourhood centre will offer an authentic, contemporary village with a strong community heart,” he said.
“It aims to be an idyllic country lifestyle with amenities, providing a mix of supermarket and quick service retail in market place, village green setting with lush landscaping, play spaces and casual eating areas.
“Our vision has been inspired by the region’s rich heritage and rural sense of life, which will be reflected throughout this beautiful local neighbourhood.”
The precinct, located at 421C The Northern Rd, is projected to create about 150 jobs.
