A rising star in Australian motorsport, Elderslie resident Cameron Crick is ready to accelerate his career with a former Australian Formula 1 driver in his corner.
Crick, 21, had the opportunity to pick the brains of nine-time Grand Prix winner and former World Endurance champion Mark Webber on Thursday, spending three hours together en route to Bathurst.
Crick, the son of the late six-time Australian Supertruck champion Rodney Crick, said the insights of the former Formula 1 driver were valued.
“(Webber) has been at the top end of motorsport. You can’t go any higher than Formula 1,” Crick said.

“It was a really cool car trip. To get his insights on fitness, what to eat, how to hydrate across a weekend event and your mental state.
“You can tell those little one percenters make a difference. Mark was impressed with our team’s results and the way we are representing ourselves — so it was a great trip.”
Crick recently completed a successful 2018 which included a podium finish at Bathurst in the Toyota 86 Racing Series.
However, new championships such as the ECB SuperUtes and potentially the Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup are awaiting the former school national karting champion.
“Every race car driver always wants more, but to finish third in the (Toyota 86 Racing Series) championship against a 40-car field, was great for my profile and development at my age,” Crick said.
“Coming out of last year we want to be competitive and be up the front of the field. The team is looking to be as competitive as we can be and be at the pointy end of both championships.”
