A man tried to steal 42 tins of baby formula and a trolley load of goods worth in excess of $1600 from Woolworths at Eagle Vale.

A MAN tried to steal 42 tins of baby formula and a trolley load with goods worth in excess of $1600 from Woolworths at Eagle Vale.

Macquarie Fields police have released CCTV footage of a man they are keen to identify in relation to the incident which took place on November 8 about 3pm.

On their Facebook page, Macquarie Fields police said the man attracted the attention of supermarket staff as they have a two tin limit in place.

“Staff kept a watch of the man who attempted to leave the store without paying for the trolley of goods,’’ police said.

“The man was confronted by staff, he abandoned the trolley and left the store.’’

Witnesses or anyone who can help identify the man are asked to phone Macquarie Fields police on 9605 0499.
