Investigations continue into Rosemeadow murder

POLICE have confirmed Campbelltown man Jamie Phillips, found dead in a vacant lot in Rosemeadow last week, was murdered.
The 46-year-old’s body was discovered by a passerby last Thursday afternoon on a vacant block in Englorie Park Drive, Rosemeadow.
Family members have paid tribute to Mr Phillips, with a mural of candles, flowers and messages of love placed alongside the Englorie Park Drive location.
Chris Mcguinness Phillips posted a heartfelt message on social media in memory of Mr Phillips.
“I know at this very moment it’s such a sad situation. We are trying our hardest for you to be strong.
“Just remember Uncle, I’ll always love you mate.”
Campbelltown crime manager Detective Inspector Greg Inger said Strike Force Hardey, formed specifically to investigate the murder, is working through all the information available.
“It’s an ongoing investigation and we have thrown a lot of resources behind it,” Detective Inger told the Chronicle.
“There are some lines of inquiry we are pursuing.”

Inspector Inger said a number of people in the community has assisted police in tracking Mr Phillips’ last movements.
At a press conference last Friday, Detective Inger confirmed Mr Phillips had family in the Campbelltown area and was known to police.
Strike Force Hardey has been established to investigate the death, and includes local detectives and the State Crime Command homicide squad.
