A high-flying proposal which captured the hearts of thousands of onlookers has landed four years later through a magical Fijian wedding.
On August 15, 2015, Troy Cartledge executed arguably the most romantic marriage proposal seen in the Macarthur region.
After asking his future bride’s father for permission, he got down on one knee at a Sunday family barbecue as a plane roared overhead with a banner emblazoned with ‘Samantha, will you marry me?’.
Nearly 1410 days and two little bundles of joy later, Troy Cartledge and Samantha Croucher said ‘I do’ at an intimate ceremony at the luxurious Marriott Resort in Momi Bay, Fiji.
Samantha, 30, wore a custom-designed Steven Khalil dress and told the Chronicle every single aspect of the day was “magical”.
“It really was a glorious day,” she said. “One of the best days of our lives.”
“We chose Fiji because we wanted something that was extraordinary, elegant and intimate, and we were just blown away.”
With the sounds of a saxophone and a keyboard playing one of the couple’s favourite songs to begin the ceremony followed by beachside celebrations under fairy lights, the gushing bride said it was everything she had imagined.
The newlyweds, who have blended their last names to Carter, enjoyed a brief honeymoon in Fiji with their boys Mason, 3 and Tatum, 1.
The Carters have returned to their Camden Park home and will now focus on building a home together in Menangle.
