Harrington Park’s Tate Thompson pleads guilty to drug supply after bust at Crear Hill Lookout

A carpenter who brazenly used Snapchat to organise drug deals at the carpark of a Sydney lookout was caught with a stash of MDMA.
Tate Thompson, of Harrington Park, has pleaded guilty to two counts of drug supply, taking part in drug supply and drug possession.
Court documents state about 6.45pm on October 21, police were patrolling Crear Hill Lookout a well known drug spot at the end of Rogan Cl, Harrington Park when they spotted three vehicles.
Thompson, 18, was sitting in the first car with another teenager, with another man standing at the window of their car in what appeared to police to be a transaction.
Officers approached and Thompson and the teenager got out of their car and told police they could not explain what was going on.
Police then searched the car and questioned Thompson who said the only item in the car that did not belong to him was a black bag the other young man had brought.
Officers found a black magnetic box underneath the driver seat containing an Apple air tag and two red and grey MDMA pills weighing 0.4 grams.
Thompson denied knowledge of the pills however stated that the phone located was his old phone and he knew it was there.
Police continued searching and then uncovered a large clear resealable bag containing 89 MDMA pills underneath the driver’s seat and a black plastic bag containing a rolled paper cannabis joint weighing 3.8g.
They also uncovered underneath the front passenger seat with three large clear bags containing 54.7g of cannabis leaf and a bag with 19.8g of MDMA.
When police searched his phone, officers found Snapchat conversations with several users about drug supply, including one with the teenager saying “Grabbing the M now” and “U still need me to take you to get the bud?”.
Thompson will be sentenced at Picton Local Court next year.
The teenager was charged with two counts of drug supply and custody of a knife in a public place. No pleas have been entered and he will face court next month.
