A young man has been arrested after allegedly running from police, sparking a high speed chase, and crashing into a vehicle in Sydney’s southwest.

A young man has been arrested after allegedly running from police, sparking a high speed chase, and crashing into a vehicle in Sydney’s southwest.
Police initiated a pursuit around 10.45pm on Wednesday night, after a driver failed to stop at the intersection of Lindesay St and Angle Rd S, Leumeah in the Campbelltown area.
The driver allegedly turned off his car headlights and sped through Macquarie Ave and Broughton St. Officers were forced to terminate the pursuit over concerns of safety.
Moments later, the driver allegedly crashed his yellow ute into a black hatchback at the intersection of Broughton St and Waminda Ave in Campbelltown.
NSW Ambulance were called to the scene to assess the 57-year-old hatchback driver. He was found uninjured.
The ute driver allegedly fled the scene.
A short time later, officers spotted the damaged vehicle travelling along Georges River Rd in Ruse.
The driver allegedly refused to stop again, triggering a second police chase. However, as the situation escalated, officers made the call to terminate the pursuit again.
The pursuit ended when police discovered the vehicle in bushland off Hansens Rd in Minto Heights.
The 25-year-old man was arrested by police and transported to Campbelltown police station.
The man was charged with engaging in a police pursuit, driving while disqualified, and failing to exchange details after a collision.
He was refused bail and is set to face Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday.
