Camden township to welcome new roundabout
Camden township is set to welcome its fifth roundabout as one of two major road projects in the local government area.
- Transformation of Menangle one step closer
- Secret Garden: The cop, the festival and the kissing booth
Another roundabout is coming to the township of Camden, joining the existing four in Argyle St.
Camden Council has accepted $277,000 from the Roads and Maritime Services’ Regional Road Repair program to part-fund two major road upgrades in the Camden local government area.
One of the projects will be a roundabout on the intersection of Broughton and Murray streets, Camden, in a bid to improve safety.
The other project is pavement repairs and road upgrades for a 1.2km stretch of Raby Rd, between Emerald Hills Drive and Gledswood Hills Drive.
The two projects are valued at $327,500 and $299,000 respectively.
Camden Mayor Peter Sidgreaves said the road upgrades would keep Camden functional.
“We identified these two projects because they were high priority,” he said.
“These works will improve the road conditions and make motorists’ rides smoother.
“The new roundabout to come to the Broughton and Murray Streets intersection will also improve the safety there.”
