A NSW Police officer was caught in the spirit of the moment when he planted a kiss on a festival princess at a kissing booth hosted by one of Sydney’s most kooky festivals.

A NSW Police officer was caught in the spirit of the moment when he planted a kiss on a festival princess at a kissing booth hosted by one of Sydney’s most kooky festivals.

The split second a southwest Sydney cop kissed the flower-crowned festival-goer at Secret Garden Festival in Camden on February 22 and 23 was captured by Sydney music photographer Sophie Hill.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said the officer had been identified and spoken to by his commander.

“The officer was approached by the lady who asked him for a kiss and to be in a picture,” the spokeswoman said.

“He said he would give her a peck on the cheek – it was all organised by her.”

The commander said the fleeting moment was “all in the spirit of the festival”.

“There was no complaint in relation to the incident,” the spokeswoman said.

Secret Garden Festival at Brownlow Hill Loop Rd celebrated its tenth and final year in 2019, featuring artists such as The Preatures, Ali Barter, Mojo Juju and Brendan Maclean.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command with assistance from neighbouring commands in Campbelltown, Liverpool and Fairfield, the South West Metropolitan Licensing and Dog Squads conducted a high-visibility operation to target anti-social behaviour.

More than 4000 people attended the festival, where 300 punters and 109 cars were searched.

with 40 drug detections for MDMA, cocaine and cannabis on the first day.

Camden Police Area Commander Ward Hanson said 10 people were charged with prohibited drug possession and supply, and will all appear at Picton Local Court on March 28.

“These operations will continue to run as police work with the festival organisers to ensure music-lovers can attend festivals and enjoy themselves in a safe, drug-free environment.” Det Supt Hanson said.

On the second day police made a further 25 drug detections, including a 22-year-old Darlington man who was allegedly found with 32 LSD tabs, three dexamphetamine tablets and an MDMA capsule.

He will face Picton Local Court on March 26.
