Mirvac general manager of NSW residential Toby Long said the company had consulted with council’s heritage advisor to help design the masterplanned estate.

“The great charm of Menangle is its history and character and we are determined to create new housing sympathetic to this environment,” Mr Long said.

“While this is a work in progress, housing materials, finishes and landscaping are the focus to ensure the new housing will be in keeping with the rural village character of Menangle.”

A a number of parks are proposed for the masterplanned community, featuring a children’s playground, fitness equipment, barbecues and a green buffer zone to Menangle station.

Mirvac is developing the site in partnership with landowners Benedict Industries and the Halfpenny family, who also are developing plans for an exciting new tourism centre.

The centre will look to celebrate the area’s role in developing the dairy industry and will involve an adaptation of the Menangle Rotolactor and Creamery.
