A deep love of the game and bond of friendship has resulted in a milestone moment for the North Ryde Dockers under-12s AFL side.
The team recently celebrated a whopping nine of its players reaching 50 or more games.
Teammates Henry, Jack, Jacob, Will, Ned, Zach, Liam, Lachy and Luke racked up the achievement earlier this month.
To add to the momentous occasion, the team claimed a stirring 56-19 win over Hornsby-Berowra to keep their 2017 finals hopes alive after missing out on the post season last year.
The team’s manager Barbara Turner said the club keeps a regular tally on the games of each of its players.
“The boys have played together at this club since Auskick.
“The players just get out there and love the game and have fun.”
Thanks to the balance of their core group of veterans alongside some brand new faces, the team will join North Ryde’s under 13 and 14 squads in the first round of the finals this weekend.
“We have five players in the team who had never played a game of AFL before this year,” Ms Turner said.
“Our senior boys really coached up the kids and it’s been a really exciting year for us.”
The North Ryde Dockers are already looking for new players for the 2018 season.
