She has won almost 100 trophies and medals in her short career and seven-year-old Sienna Nuttall shows no signs of stopping.
The primary school student from West Hoxton will compete at the International Sport Karate Association’s World Cup in October for the first time ever.
The competition will be held at the Whitlam Leisure Centre.
Ranked the number one national champion for extreme and traditional weapons in her age category, Sienna has high hopes of becoming a sensei in the future and teaching children the art of karate.
The former dancer turned to karate after watching her sister pursue martial arts.
“It’s basically in the blood,” mum Colleen said.
“She used to be a dancer but because she saw her sister do it she decided to do it too,” Ms Nuttall said.
Despite the transition, she said her daughter was a “natural” at it.
Sienna trains every day before and after school and her energy knows no bounds.
She has already received her ninja black belt and is now aiming for her junior black belt.
Ms Nuttall said her daughter was always encouraging towards other competitors.
Sienna is this week’s nominee for the Local Sports Star award in the Junior Sports Star category, which recognises the outstanding achievements of athletes aged 18 and under.
