Look no further than Kemps Creek United Soccer Club’s under-12s for a sporting team that is punching above its weight.
The undefeated minor premiers recently cemented their name in the game after emerging as Southern Districts Soccer Football Association under-12s division one competition champions.
Team manager Robert Szoszkiewicz described the up-and-coming football stars as an “extremely committed and hard working team”.
“They can switch off from being an 11- or 12-year-old and can focus,” he said.
The team was also victorious in the Kanga Cup, in Canberra, and reached the semi-finals in the under-12 NSW State Cup for division one teams.
Szoszkiewicz said the group had a “strong and competitive attitude” but played the game fairly.
The team has been nominated for a Local Sports Star award in the Young Sporting Spirit Team category, which recognises a team that shows dedication and sportsmanship.
