SHAYLA Gibbs is off to the US on September 21.
The 14-year-old has had continued success with singing, dancing and modelling. Many say she’s a triple threat.
While she’s not at the point of having to decide which path she takes, the Lurnea teen is off to America to showcase her talent to industry professionals.
She’s purchased her own flight and up until a week ago, was travelling with a small group from JMA Entertainment in Parramatta.
Mum Linda Sheath said because more opportunities had opened up, she was expected to go on the trip too.
To help make that happen, they’ve started a Go Fund Me page.
“There are people that work with Miley Cyrus, the Kardashians and Jess McCartney that are going to be there,” Ms Sheath said.
Shayla has more than 11,000 Instagram followers and is the face of the 2016 World Supremacy Battlegrounds.
She’s modelled for Uncle Tobys, Tourism NSW, Mounties Group and Watermark. As things amp up, her mum said it was time for her to step away from managing her.
“She’s getting too big — I just want to be the mum cheering on the sideline. She needs professional management now.”
The teen started modelling as a 10-year-old. Ms Sheath said she was always photogenic and felt comfortable in front of the camera.
“Kate Johnson from Wink Models has interest in Shayla — she’s a national and international guru.”
Shayla’s 25-year-old sister Kirri is her inspiration. She was born severely developmentally delayed and has cerebral palsy.
“She’s written an original song for her sister and wants to record it when it’s not so raw.”
Her sister was put into a long term care facility. Shayla said whenever she visits her she feels even more motivated to achieve.
