A man spat and threatened to defecate on a parked police vehicle where he yelled “I f***ing hate cops’ during an intoxicated outburst outside a police station.

Peter Mathiang, 37, pleaded guilty to behaving in an offensive manner after he spat on a marked police sedan parked outside Liverpool police station on George St, Liverpool about 8:02pm on May 31.

Documents tendered to Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday state a police sergeant was walking to front passenger door of a police vehicle when he noticed Mathiang walk to the rear driver’s side and “draw saliva in his mouth”.

Magistrate Julie Zaki said “pretty offensive behaviour” ensured as Mathiang admitted he was intoxicated during his interaction with police.

“The accused looked directly at (the sergeant) before intentionally spitting saliva from his mouth onto the police vehicle,” the facts state.

The sergeant asked Mathiang for identification when Mathiang said: “Was that your car? I should have s*at on it.”

“The accused went on to further say “I hate the f*****g cops” and “so what that I spat on your car, people spit on peoples car everyday”.

According to the facts, Mathiang, of Concord West, has an extensive criminal history and previously served terms of imprisonment.

“The accused behaviour and subsequent interaction with police regarding his behaviour clearly demonstrates a lack of remorse nor respect for the laws of NSW and authority of the NSW Police,” the facts state.

Magistrate Zaki said while his offence was “not the most serious it was rather offensive” and encouraged Mathiang to continue his drug and alcohol treatment.

Mathiang was convicted and was ordered to pay a $500 fine
