Liverpool’s newest dining destination is now open.
VIP guests, residents and the wider community flocked to the Paper Mill Food precinct at 20 Shepherd St, Liverpool, last week to celebrate its much-anticipated launch.
An invitation-only function was held last Wednesday with dignitaries and influencers in attendance, including owner of Middle Eastern restaurant Nour and former My Kitchen Rules contestantIbby Moubadder.
Paper Mill residents were given a chance to explore the new dining quarter on Friday before the grand opening on Saturday.
With executive chef Nader Shayeb — formerly of Nour — at its helm, the precinct houses four eateries, including a cafe and dessert bar, pizzeria, charcoal chicken and burger joint, and an a la carte restaurant specialising in meat and seafood cooked over charcoal and in the wood-fired oven.
A takeaway and delivery menu is also available.
Speaking to the Leader in June, Mr Shayeb said the menu would feature a number of smoked and barbecued dishes, with two wood-fired ovens and five firepits to achieve the unique flavours.
“When a customer dines in our venue, they’re really wanting to taste in any of the dishes elements of fire.”
Guests have also been wowed by the precinct’s ambience, with its fit-out a tribute to the building’s industrial heritage.
Features include timber joinery, Carrara marble, custom cast iron sculpting resembling nineteenth-century ovens and a handmade mosaic tile floor. The original brickwork and sawtooth roof were retained.
The Paper Mill Food is open all week from 7am to 11pm.
