Liverpool, Russell Sabelgunst charged with wounding
A man allegedly stabbed another man in the back as he was walking his dog in the afternoon in southwest Sydney.

A man has allegedly been stabbed in the back while walking his dog in Sydney’s south west.
Police allege that on the evening of Tuesday, October 27, David Wilcox was out walking his dog on Elizabeth Drive in Liverpool before he was allegedly attacked and stabbed in the back.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Campbell and Macquarie Street, where paramedics treated the 26-year-old alleged victim before transporting him to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.
His attacker fled the scene on foot.
An investigation by police led to the arrest of Russell Sabelgunst at Liverpool Railway Station on Thursday, with the 40-year-old taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with one count of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Friday where bail was not applied for and formally refused.
The matter was adjourned to next appear in the same court on November 9, 2020.
Wilcox and Sabelgunst are believed to be known to each other.
South Western Sydney Local Health District have been contacted for comment as to the current condition of Wilcox.
