Shake off the winter blues and celebrate the new season with the annual Spring Into Liverpool festival this Saturday.
Hosted by Liverpool Council, the big bash at Greenway Park in Carnes Hill is one of the most anticipated calendar events of the year with plenty of family entertainment and outdoor fun to be enjoyed.
This year’s program includes cooking, gardening and fitness demonstrations, food trucks and rides as well as a free outdoor screening of the animated musical comedy hit Sing!
Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said the festival has become a “real hit” with residents.
“Liverpool is much more than just the Liverpool CBD,” Cr Waller said.
“I am very happy to be able to provide an event for our residents who live around West Hoxton and Carnes Hill, which are some of the fastest-growing areas of greater Sydney.”
Fitness fanatics will be treated to free fitness sessions with personal trainer Shannan Ponton while foodies will have the opportunity to learn new recipes from Casula Powerhouse’s Bellbird Cafe chefs.
Liverpool residents can also get their dogs and cats microchipped for free.
Liverpool councillors will be on hand to greet the community at their mobile office, as part of the range of council services that will be offered on the day.
It also includes community development and planning demonstrations.
“If you are looking for something inexpensive to do with the children, bring the whole family down to Greenway Park for Spring Into Liverpool,” Cr Waller said.
Spring Into Liverpool festival event runs from noon to 9pm.
There will be free parking at Greenway Park Community Centre off Carmichael Drive.
