Customers who order the ‘Megaooosh’ are warned to travel in a vehicle big enough to transport the 27-inch whopper.
It’s either that or devour it while enjoying the modern ambience of Chipping Norton Manoosh, which opened earlier this year on Childs Rd.
Owners Jehad and Fatima Abdel-Malak set out to create a unique dining experience for fans of the Middle Eastern delicacy which, in its traditional form, resembles a pizza without a base.
With modern decor that sets it apart from traditional manoosh eateries, Chipping Norton Manoosh also serves Lebanese-style breakfast boards, desserts and the ‘Megaooosh’.
Mrs Abdel-Malak said her husband originally came up with the idea of making Australia’s biggest manoosh, for which they have had to order custom-made boxes.
Having only premiered the creation recently, the ‘Megaooosh’ is quickly gaining popularity.
Customers can choose up to four toppings, including savoury and sweet.
“It’s like they have the three main courses and they’ve got the dessert afterwards,” Mrs Abdel-Malak said.
When an order comes in, it takes just 15 minutes to make and occupies the whole oven, but the result is worth it.
“Everything’s rolled out. It’s 2.5kg of dough and we have all our toppings. We even shred our own cheese,” Mrs Abdel-Malak said.
The eatery offers two versions of the ‘Megaooosh’ — one-metre or 27-inch.
Mrs Abdel-Malak said she and her husband were now working on a challenge inviting individuals to polish off an entire ‘Megaooosh’ for a prize.
