Raptor police seize $1.3m cash during traffic stops, unit search

Two men have appeared in court after more than $1.3 million in cash was allegedly found in two separate traffic stops by the bikie-busting Strike Force Raptor.

Two traffic stops by the bikie crime-busting Raptor squad have led officers to the discovery of more than $1.3 million in cold hard cash, police have said.

Xin Gu, who was stopped on Meredith Ave, Rhodes, and Henrich Muller, who was pulled over on Richmond Rd, Windsor, both appeared in court on Friday.

Mr Gu, 36, sparked the interest of cops on Thursday after he was allegedly spotted reaching for a black duffel bag in the back of the car, court documents state.

After the arrest, police then searched a nearby apartment on Mill Park St in Rhodes and seized $200,000 cash, hard drives and documents.

Mr Gu made a brief appearance at brief appearance at Burwood Local Court charged with knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and deal in proceeds of crime, money/property (more than $1 million).

His lawyer Mostafa Daoudie successfully secured his release on bail.

As part of his bail Gu has surrendered his passport and will report to police daily and cannot access encrypted messaging apps.

Just hours after Mr Gu’s arrest police pulled over Mr Muller, 24, in Windsor in a separate unrelated stop.

Police say Mr Muller had $158,000 hidden in a secret compartment of his Honda Accord along with 3.8g of cocaine.

He was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station where he was charged with two counts of knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime and possessing a prohibited drug.

He did not apply for bail during a brief mention at Penrith Local Court today and it was formally refused.

They were both ordered to appear before the courts at a later date.
