Man charged with murder after Five Dock shooting

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 28-year-old man with murder after a shooting in Five Dock on Tuesday.
Emergency services were called to a unit on East St, Five Dock, at around 3.45am on Tuesday April 2 after reports of shots fired.
When officers arrived they found two me, both aged 24 with gunshot wounds.
Paramedics treated both men at the scene before taking them to hospital.
One of the men suffered a gunshot wound to his head and later died.
The man who suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder has since been released from hospital.
A short time later, a 28-year-old man from Yagoona presented himself to Auburn Hospital suffering a gunshot wound to his stomach.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad and Burwood Police Area Command said the incidents were connected.
They established Strike Force Wesson, and following inquiries, the 28-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder, shoot at with intent to murder, and special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence.
The man has been refused bail and remains under police guard in hospital.
The matter is expected to be mentioned at Parramatta Local Court later today.
Investigations into Strike Force Wesson are continuing and police are seeking another man in relation to the incident.
Police are urging anyone who was in the area at the time or has any information that may assist to come forward.
