Woman’s life support turned off after Camperdown truck collision

A 21-year-old woman has died in hospital after the bicycle she was riding collided with a truck in Camperdown last month.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Parramatta Rd and Western Ave, Camperdown at around 4.34pm on March 28 after reports a cyclist had been hit by a truck.

The woman was treated by paramedics at the scene before she was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

The truck driver was uninjured and taken to RPA for mandatory testing.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command attended the scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A NSW Police spokesman said it is believed the collision took place while the truck was turning left onto Parramatta Rd from Western Ave.

The woman’s life support was turned off just before midday on April 3.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
