Kristy Wild: Woman charged with stabbing Jamie Blewitt denied bail

Alleged details have emerged about what happened on the night a woman allegedly stabbed her partner in the stomach inside their home, leaving him with gruesome injuries.

A Sydney woman who allegedly stabbed her partner in the stomach in a violent episode previously had police take an AVO out against the same man before the attack, a court has heard.

New claims have emerged about what allegedly led to Cabarita woman Kristy Anne Wild stabbing her beau in the early hours of the morning inside their home, with her barrister arguing in court the relationship has been marred by violence.

Registered nurse Wild, 44, is behind bars on remand after being arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to Jamie Blewitt at their Kendall St home on October 1.

Mr Blewitt, 50, sustained gruesome injuries in the attack that left him bleeding out on the street with neighbours tending to him before paramedics arrived at the scene.

Wild applied for bail in Burwood Local Court for the second time on Wednesday, where her barrister David Mulligan argued Blewitt himself was previously handed an apprehended violence order during their tumultuous two-year relationship.

Mr Mulligan told the court there were several “violent discrepancies” on the night of the incident, which police say was also witnessed by a minor.

“There is clearly violence, perhaps on both sides,” Magistrate Miranda Moody said.

Wild, the court heard, was willing to move back in with a former lover in Coffs Harbour more than 600km away from Sydney and the witness.

Her sister is a serving police officer in Wollongong and also offered to put up $5000 as a surety to ensure Wild would adhere to strict bail conditions while out in the community.

Prosecutor Sergeant David Tran handed up graphic images of Mr Blewitt’s injuries and argued Wild would “without a doubt” spend time in jail if she was convicted.

Wild has been a nurse for 20 years, the court heard.

Police allege the couple had been arguing in the early hours of the morning before things escalated and Wild stabbed her partner in the stomach with a knife.

She was later seen sobbing in the street as neighbours worked to keep Mr Blewitt alive.

Magistrate Moody said the “tight family nature” of the case made it hard for police to enforce conditions that would prevent her from contacting witnesses or her parents.

Wild was denied bail and her case adjourned to be heard back in the same court later this year.
