When the going gets tough, that’s when Finn Barry gets going.
The prop/hooker from the Northern Suburbs colts program heads into a match between the U18 Gen Blue NSW Juniors and a Schools XV lead by Manly’s Dally Bird bearing the battle scars of a big head clash earlier this month.
The 18-year-old from Drummoyne suffered a cut above his eye in trials on November 1 which required stitching.

“I got offered to go to the Gen Blue trials for the Sydney team and I was making a tackle on one of the big guys and had a head clash with a support player,’’ Barry said.
“I got six stitches but no concussion which was lucky and got into the team that played last week.

“My face just started squirting blood and I though, that’s not good. But I got the stitches in and there was no real swelling or bruising so I was pretty lucky.
“I got it strapped up for the game (between Sydney and Country) on Saturday.’’
Playing off the bench, Barry’s performance was enough to secure him a spot in Sunday’s battle as part of the NSW team being lead by Oskar Enasio.
“I love my rugby and it’s been great to be playing this season,’’ Barry said.
“I feel sorry for all those Year 12 guys who didn’t get to play much because we at least got a season in with the colts.’’
Sunday’s game is on CluchTV due to COVID restrictions limiting spectators.
