Two men were hospitalised and one was trapped inside a high end luxury car which was destroyed in a single vehicle smash on a major road in Sydney’s inner west.
NSW Ambulance tweeted they were responding to reports a car had crashed into a power pole on the Princes Hwy at St Peters just after 11.30am.
Three paramedic road crews attended the Princes Hwy near Grove St, where they found a red Ferrari crumpled around a power pole.
A man in his 20s was initially trapped in the vehicle and extricated with assistance from Fire and Rescue NSW before he was treated for minor injuries.
Paramedics also treated another man in his 40s for a head injury and the pair were transported to St George Hospital in a stable condition.
NSW Ambulance Inspector Kay Armstrong said communication and teamwork with other emergency services was critical for good patient outcomes.
“Anytime we respond to an incident with patients trapped inside a motor vehicle, it’s challenging,” Insp Armstrong said.
“High-powered vehicles can so easily get out of control – I’d ask everyone on the road to please take care.”
Social media observers in an Erskineville community Facebook group winced at images of the destroyed Ferrari.
“The windscreen looks nasty, hope the occupants are okay,” one local resident wrote.
“Ooft, that hurts the old bankroll,” another commented.
Local business First Choice Towing attended the scene and removed the destroyed Ferrari from the road.
First Choice Towing covers accident and trade towing from Homebush to Bondi including the inner west.
