A flash Sydney business owner, who boasts a life of boats and designer clothes online, is challenging a court finding he assaulting a business rival who poached his customer.

Christopher Paul Muscat’s social media depicts him living the high life and hanging out with top Rebels bikies Chris Rymer and Jamie Saliba, but it’s what happened at Paddy’s Markets on July 20 that landed him in trouble.

The 34-year-old was charged with stalking/intimidating and common assault after a business dispute in Flemington.

Police allege the argument was caused by a customer leaving Muscat’s company and using a rival transport business instead.

Muscat is alleged to have searched the markets before finding the business owner and threatening him.

“I have kids, you approached my customer you motherf****r … I’m going to follow you home I know which car is yours,” he is alleged to have said.

Muscat then allegedly jumped into a forklift with the man and attempted to grab him around the neck resulting in him hitting the man in the face – according to the police facts tendered to court.

When another man tried to intervene police allege Muscat then squared up to him and asked “Do you want to go?”.

Police allege Muscat continued to swear at the alleged victim after the altercation the men were separated.

Appearing in Burwood Local Court on Thursday, Muscat told Magistrate Lisa Stapleton he sought to have the court’s earlier ruling annulled. He said he missed his last court date because he was sick but only had an email from a doctor as evidence.

He was dealt with in his absence and Muscat is attempting to have it annulled.

Muscat told the court he couldn’t explain why the same friend who helped him get to the doctor could not have also rang the court and informed them of his situation.

“I don’t know what antibiotics are that debilitating,” Magistrate Stapleton said.

When not running his logistics business Muscat lives a lavish life, according to his social media.

Jetting overseas with bikie mates and boasting of his “#boatlife” are just some of the antics littered between Gucci shirts on his Instagram.

He was on hand when Saliba and Rymer – once senior figures in the western Sydney chapter of the Rebels – were themselves facing court.

“Free these two legends,” he wrote at the time.

Muscat’s case was adjourned and will be heard back in the same court later this year.
