A nearly half a billion dollar development will see more than 200 families housed in a landmark project within Sydney’s inner west.
Sydney developer Deicorp, has secured planning approval for the ‘Marquet & Mary’ project - a 32-level mixed-use tower in the heart of Rhodes that will see 214 units sitting atop a four-storey podium.
The $435 million project will include retail and commercial space, a community rooftop terrace and garden alongside a residential courtyard which will be designed by the acclaimed Australian design practice FK.
FK Partner Craig Baudin, said the “swift” approval by council showed the need for more housing in Sydney’s inner west.
“This project goes beyond simply providing much-needed housing,” he said.
“It also completes a crucial missing piece in the precinct.”
“With ongoing pressures on the construction sector and a persistent housing shortage, we’re proud to provide generous family residences with spectacular views.”
Positioned at the corner of Marquet and Mary St, the landmark development will be located within walking distance of shopping, dining, leisure and transport and create new laneways into the Rhodes CBD.
Deicorp’s Chairman, Fouad Deiri OAM welcomed the panel’s endorsement of the project.
“Deicorp is very excited to have been given the go-ahead for this landmark building, which will bring much needed new homes to the heart of Rhodes,” he said
