Wollongong boy pleads guilty to shocking sextortion of teen girls’ sexual photos

A Wollongong teenager used an Italian TikTok star’s photos to catfish girls into sending their nudes to him then threatened to expose their intimate images if they did not send more.
The sick inner workings of how a 17-year-old teen manipulated, demanded, pressured and intimidated five women to send sexualised images as he purported to be the model have been revealed in a shocking case of “sextortion”.
The teen created three dozen personal emails throughout 2022 and 2023 which he used to create fake social media profiles, and 136 usernames, on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Wizz to conceal his identity and demand sexual explicit images and videos from his victims aged between 15 and 19.
One of the most disturbing examples was when the teen contacted a 15-year-old girl via a direct Instagram message in September last year.
The teen used a different name and photos of TikTok star Pietro Checchi, who has 2 million followers, to catfish the woman and offered to pay $300 to $600 for sexualised images.
The teen described the type of photos he wanted and she sent images of her breasts while wearing a bra, exposed breasts and bottom.
He requested more which made her uncomfortable so she looked into his Instagram profile and discovered the photos were of the TikTok star.
She questioned his identity before he threatened to send her photos to all her followers.
“When I cum I’ll send a vid of me deleting everything and u can block me,” he told her. “If you block me now I’ll leak them. U got 30 seconds to send a titty video or I start leaking.”
She sent a video of her bare breasts but the teen demanded more images where he told her to “send them faster”, requesting images of “an ass” and “send one in doggy”.
The teen told her to Facetime him but she said “please I don’t want to do that” and he responded “alright I’m leaking then”.
“NO DONT, please wait,” she replied.
The teen Facectimed the girl with his camera and microphone off where he gave her instructions on what to show, which she did out of fear. He also screen recorded the video with her consent.
Despite the constant promises to delete the victim’s intimate content if she complied with his demands, the teen saved 12 images, six short videos and the screen recorded call to a Google Drive.
The teen then requested a video of her masturbating, again threatening to leak the content.
She did not send a video and the teen sent her intimate content to four social media contacts including her father. The girl reported the incident to police.
In another disturbing example, a 16-year-old girl sent sexualised images to the teen but he put the images, with her Instagram handle and phone number, on his Snapchat story.
She received more than 100 requests, phone calls and messages from strangers.
The teen told her “send whatever I want til I cum or it stays up for thousands of ppl to see. When I cum I’ll send a screen recording of me deleting it.”
“If you block me now it stays up forever. You got two minutes to send a titty vid or I put more up,” he said.
The victim found the teen’s West Wollongong location before she reported the incident to police.
The State Crime Command’s Cybercrime Specialist Investigation Unit identified the teen and he was arrested on October 20 last year.
In Wollongong Children’s Court this week the teen pleaded guilty to 14 offences including demanding with menaces; possessing, soliciting and transmitting child abuse material; inciting another to carry out a sexual act with them without consent and sexual assault by forced self-manipulation.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
