Shannon Haynes to spend at least a year behind bars after sugar daddy ‘set-up’
A NSW woman has been jailed for 12 months after trying to extort her online “sugar daddy” while she had sex with him at her mother’s home.
An Illawarra woman will spend at least 12 months behind bars after trying to extort her online “sugar daddy” while she had sex with him at her mother’s home.
Shannon Haynes met her 37-year-old victim on sugar daddy dating website Seeking Arrangements in October last year.
Using the name “SexySienna BlondeBabe” she chatted to the man and agreed to an “arrangement” in which he would pay her $1000 a week for her services.
Shortly afterwards that was lowered to $300.
The man met Haynes at her mum’s Fernhill home and placed the agreed $300 on the bedside table. The pair began having sex but halted when Haynes demanded more cash.

When the “sugar daddy” refused Haynes, 28, phoned her friend Michael Sullivan, telling her worried beau he would not be leaving the house.
As the victim got dressed and prepared to exit, Sullivan and a friend named Justin Diaz, who was armed with a tomahawk, burst in.
When the man refused to cough up, saying the $300 was all he had, Sullivan allegedly hit him in the head.
The man said he would go to an ATM to take out cash but instead went straight to police.
Haynes was sentenced on Wednesday to 20 months in jail, with a non-parole period of 12 months. Sullivan and Diaz will be sentenced next month after pleading guilty to reckless wounding and using an offensive weapon.
Haynes’ defence lawyer argued that while she did contact Sullivan and Diaz for back-up, she did not know they would show up armed with a tomahawk.
“She was somewhat of a hapless victim of that scenario, the lawyer said.
“She didn’t know that was going to happen.”
While prosecutor Jacqueline Azard agreed this was true, she said Haynes did nothing to stop the two men from attacking the sugar daddy.
“It was as set-up and she wanted back up,” she said.
“As soon as she saw the tomahawk she did nothing … it would have been frightening for the victim.”
In a letter to the magistrate, Haynes showed remorse for her actions, saying “I’m now a changed person for the better”.
But, Magistrate Stoddart said he was “guarded” about her prospects of rehabilitation given her role in the crime, “violent” criminal history and the fact she was on bond for a previous offence at the time of the incident.
“It is a serious offence and Ms Haynes’ role, in my view, is significant,” he said.
Magistrate Stoddart rejected the defence’s view Ms Haynes’ sentence should be served in the community, sentencing her to 20 months in jail, with a non-parole period of 12 months.
With time already served, she will be eligible for release on October 11.
Sullivan and Diaz will be sentenced next month.
