Amanda Arbib fronts court over stolen credit card charges
A glamorous 28-year-old who went from an eastern suburbs private schoolgirl to ice addict has fronted court, charged with allegedly possessing two stolen credit cards.
A glamorous former eastern suburbs private schoolgirl turned ice addict has fronted court, two years after claiming to have turned her life around from a battle with drugs.
Amanda Arbib, 28, had wanted her story of recovery to “give other young people courage” in 2017, however, she has now found herself on the wrong side of the law after detectives charged her with two offences.
Police allege the former Moriah College student from Bellevue Hill was caught with two stolen credit cards in Matraville earlier this year.
Her solicitor, Mark Kryakos of Leeds Lawyers, submitted that there was a “significant criminal history” that would have to be addressed and his client would be entering a plea on the next occasion.
During her battle with addiction, Arbib had once resorted to carrying a bag of ice in her bra before rehabilitating herself.
Arriving at court during a break for morning tea, the matter remained on the list until her lawyer Mr Kryakos arrived at court at 2pm, having only been presented with the allegations by police on his arrival.
Arbib, who has not indicated which plea she will enter on the next occasion, has had her matters adjourned to be heard back in the same court on July 23.
