Lake Heights: Police launch major search after alleged pursuit in stolen Audi

A manhunt is underway in Lake Heights after a person allegedly took off following a pursuit in a quiet, residential area.

A large-scale police operation is underway at Lake Heights.

Police are on the hunt for a driver after an alleged pursuit through the area on Thursday morning.

Police have been told the grey Audi Q5 was stolen about 8am and was allegedly seen driving erratically on Glastonbury Avenue, Unanderra, before the male driver exited the vehicle at Dennis Crescent, Lake Heights and fled on foot.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District, PolAir and the Dog Unit commenced a search for the driver, who is yet to be located.

The Audi has since been towed to a police holding yard and will undergo forensic examination.
