A child groomer who sent a teenage girl slam poetry about sexual intercourse with Disney characters has been released from jail.
Noah Alexander Rzeminski, 25, used an online chatroom to try to lure a 14-year-old girl to meet up so they could “cuddle and kiss”
The Illawarra man, who used the name MrSygonist, did not know he was really talking to a police officer.
He was sentenced in Wollongong District Court on Friday to 15 months jail after previously pleading guilty to using a carriage service to groom a child under 16.
But he was immediately released from jail after 150 days behind bars in pre-sentence custody.
Judge Andrew Haesler determined the final 10 months of his sentence could be served in the community via a bond.
Documents previously tendered to the court detail how Rzeminski first came under the notice of the Child Exploitation Internet Unit in April, 2021.
He initiated a conversation with police posing as a 14-year-old girl.
The conversation moved to another social media site where Rzeminski used the name Alex Anderson.
When the girl asked if it was okay to keep talking, Rzeminski replied “as long as you behave yourself”.
Rzeminski requested a photo, responding “wow you are super cute” and “I wish I could see more of you or hang out with you, if there wasn’t such a big gap to make you uncomfortable I’d suggest a date” once it was sent.
He probed about the girl‘s “sexual experience” and asked for pictures of her “bum or boobs”, adding “you are so pretty I want to see every angle of you if I can”.
On April 17, Rzeminski sent pictures of himself to the girl and asked her to skip school so they could “cuddle, kiss, touch your breast, between your legs, grab your bum”.
In a later conversation, Rzeminski asked the girl to read a slam poetry verse called “Ursula” with police claiming it was about having sexual intercourse with a Disney character.
Rzeminski was arrested at his parents’ Fairy Meadow home in May, 2021, where the then 24-year-old fainted and fell to the ground.
In court on Friday, Judge Haesler described Rzeminski’s behaviour as “criminal” before stating “if five months in custody hasn’t got that through to him I don’t think it ever will”.
“I could have kept him in jail for a couple of weeks longer, but it would have no utilitarian reasons to do so … it would have just been mathematical,” he said.
The sentence will expire in September, next year, with Rzeminski ordered to abstain from drugs and alcohol and seek permission from his probation officer if he wished to travel interstate or overseas.
Rzeminski will also be subjected to a child protection order with Judge Haesler telling him he will be on “a fairly tight leash” including regarding his use of the internet.
