Police have launched a probe as an elderly woman has been left fighting for life after she was struck by a ute in the state’s Illawarra.
The investigation come after emergency services were called to Cordeaux Rd, Figtree – south of Wollongong – about 6.30am Tuesday, following reports an elderly woman was struck by a ute.
NSW Ambulance responded and treated the 88-year-old woman, who was suffering pelvic injuries.
She was flown to St George Hospital in a critical condition.
The 64-year-old driver of the vehicle rendered assistance to the woman before emergency services arrived.
Wollongong Police District officers responded to the incident and have established a crime scene.
Officers are now asking anyone with dashcam footage of CCTV to come forward and contact Wollongong Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Investigations are ongoing.
