Worker injured at West Pennant Hills NorthConnex construction site

A MAN has been injured at the West Pennant Hills NorthConnex construction site this morning after an incident in a service trench.

A MAN has been injured at the West Pennant Hills NorthConnex construction site this morning after an incident in a service trench.

A Roads and Maritime Service spokesman said the department was aware of an incident on the NorthConnex project — but would not explain the circumstances surrounding the man’s injuries.

“(RMS) will support SafeWork NSW with any investigation,” the spokesman said.

It is understood one employee was injured during the incident and the man was taken to hospital for monitoring.

A SafeWork NSW spokeswoman said inspectors were currently at the NorthConnex construction site as part of the investigation.

This is not the first incident at the West Pennant Hills NorthConnex construction site.

A 65-year-old man was struck and killed by a piece of equipment on May 23 last year sparking an investigation by SafeWork NSW and NSW Police.
