Alexandru Todicescu: Turramurra man charged with alleged sexual assault, rape

A man from Sydney’s upper north shore has been hit with a slew of historic alleged sexual abuse charges, including two counts of alleged rape which allegedly took place in a bedroom and garden shed.

A man from Sydney’s upper north shore has been charged with a slew of alleged sexual misconduct and abuse charges dating back to the early 1980s.

Turramurra man Alexandru Todicescu appeared before Hornsby Local Court after being charged with a series of alleged offences. He has not yet entered any pleas.

The 83-year-old faces nine charges — two counts of alleged rape, four counts of indecently assaulting a minor (aged younger than 16-years-old) and three counts of sexual assault while knowing no consent was given.

According to documents tendered to Hornsby Local Court, these allegations all date back to a two-year span during the early 1980s.

Police will allege in one instance Todicescu raped the alleged victim in a garden shed in Turramurra and — on a separate occasion — in a household.

Alexandru Todicescu faces nine charges of alleged sexual misconduct and assault.

The three alleged instances of sexual assault without consent also occurred in a garden shed and, on two occasions, in a bedroom, according to court documents.

He is also accused of kissing her on the lips and once, while in an area outside Sydney, Todicescu allegedly “pushed his hands under her dress and touched … the outside of her underpants,” court documents state.

Todicescu was apprehended by police and charged with these nine counts of alleged sexual misconduct and assault on September 18.

Since being apprehended, Todicescu has remained on bail. The matter will next return to court on November 30.
