When an evening begins with plenty of laughs, a smoky beef slider and a refreshing craft beer, it must be a sign of good things to come.
And so it was at The Winston’s craft beer dinner last Tuesday, hosted by Akasha Brewing Company.
About 75 people packed into The Winston to enjoy a night of Akasha’s craft beers expertly paired with a four-course meal.
Akasha, based in Five Dock, was founded by Hills local and former home-brewer David Padden and friend Wesley White.
“This really blows me away every single time and I want to thank everyone for coming,” Padden told guests at the dinner.
Akasha’s beers range from the light and citrus-filled Tradewind Lager and the best-selling Freshwater Pale Ale to the rich, intense limited release Vetala’s Blood American stout.
The beers were paired with a meat-inspired menu starting with slow cooked beef cheek sliders, followed by hickory smoked lamb cutlets and prosciutto wrapped pork.
The evening wrapped up with a delightful dark chocolate and hazelnut pudding served with a refreshing mango sorbet.
The Winston hosts regular craft beer and wine dinners, showcasing different producers. For details on the next event, visit thewinston.com.au
