Acoustic tunes? Jazz nights? Live music could soon be coming to a popular Hills pub after the venue owner revealed exciting plans for acoustic sets and jazz bands.

Live music and jazz nights could soon be coming to a popular Dural pub.

The Hills’ popular Momento Hospitality group has lodged grand plans with Hills Shire Council to allow live music at The Duke of Dural.

Plans include the catering of acoustic sets and entertainment in the bar area and outdoor courtyard at the Kenthurst Rd venue.

The group’s chief executive Marcello Colosimo said the idea was to have single artists come and play one night a week at the venue.

“We’ve had customers requesting to listen to a piano player, guitarist and jazz band,” Colosimo said.

“It will be acoustic music played in the background to create ambience.”

After opening last November, the Duke has been widely supported as the latest watering hole for the local area.

“The community has really taken to the Duke. It’s a great neighbourhood pub with a loyal community base,” Mr Colosimo said.

He said feedback on the food has been “outstanding”, particularly the steaks.

Mr Colosimo also revealed a new cafe at the site with a brunch offering was also on the cards.

Momento Hospitality own a string of popular Hills venues including The Bella Vista Hotel, Hillside Hotel and Sarino’s.

While The Duke is currently closed due to lockdown, The Bella Vista Hotel warehouse has been transformed into a drive-thru service providing everything from ready cooked meals, homemade pizza bases and cocktails to go.
