North Kellyville: Our Lady of the Angels Primary School reveals plans to build new two-storey block

A northwest Sydney Catholic school’s expansion plan has been revealed amid growing student numbers. Here are the plans.

A Catholic primary school in Sydney’s northwest has revealed plans for a two-storey hub for its growing students.

The Catholic Schools Paramatta Diocese has lodged plans to the Hills Shire Council to construct a new two-storey building at the Our Lady of Angels Primary School in North Kellyville.

Founded in 2010, the 15-year-old school opened with 62 children and has since grown to over 500 students.

A statement of environmental effects, conducted by Barr Planning on behalf of the developer, outlines the plan to knock down the existing one-storey Block C building and construct a two-storey one in its place.

The new Block C building will have several facilities including a knowledge hub, a wellbeing hub, three general learning areas, break out rooms, a multipurpose room and toilets, and an accessible bathroom.

Plans also highlight the construction of a covered elevated walkway which is set to connect the new Block C building to Block F and Block E.

A “decorative painted artwork” is also in the plans and will be on a reinforced concrete wall facing the school.

Along with the new building and walkway, a new internal footpath is planned to connect the new block with Blocks D, E and F in order to “facilitate connectivity with the existing school”.

The plans state that this new block will help “support passive surveillance within the school” while improving “the quality of educational facilities and services”.
