The inaugural board of the new Hills Football association was announced last week.

William Renton, Giuseppe Mirigliani, Mick Pawelko, Craig Gough, Sue Torville and Graeme Luck were elected as the inaugural directors at the association’s first annual general meeting, held at the Football NSW headquarters last Thursday night.

Mr Gough was formerly president of the breakaway Sydney Hills Football Association, which held a successful inaugural season last year before it became part of the new Football NSW-sanctioned Hills Football.

The six directors were joined on the night by Football NSW acting chief executive Stefan Kamasz, who highlighted the importance of the evening.

“Tonight was an important milestone, and on behalf of all at Football NSW, I want to congratulate the successful candidates who have been elected to take this organisation forward,” he said.

“I also want to thank those other candidates who put themselves up for consideration, and indeed all 19 clubs for their support and assistance to date.

“The growth and development and the future of our sport in the Hills region is now in the hands of the new board and we wish them well.”

The new association will cater to an estimated 11,000 local players next year.
