When New York went crazy for a new frozen cocktail trend, it was only a matter of time before Australian bars caught on.

Frozen rose – appropriately named frose – was the drink of choice during New York’s 2016 summer and now it has arrived down under.

Luckily for Hills diners, Bella Vista Hotel – which celebrated its fourth anniversary on Sunday – has become one of the first local venues to include the alcoholic slushie on its cocktail list, just in time for summer.

The hotel’s refreshing, bright pink frose is made from frozen rosé wine mixed with fresh lime and strawberries plus a secret ingredient.

The hotel’s up-market bistro has also released a new menu, pairing pub favourites like chicken schnitzel ($24) and fish and chips ($29) with popular modern food trends like deconstructed tacos ($20), roast pumpkin, kale and fetta salad ($20) and a buttermilk fried chicken burger ($23).
