A boy who allegedly stabbed a 17-year-old boy during a planned fight at a Dural carpark last week has been hit with a fresh charge.

A children’s court heard the 16-year-old defendant was charged with reckless wounding on Tuesday morning after the alleged victim suffered a punctured lung following the knifing on Thursday just before 10pm.

Police allege the boy had been stabbed at a carpark on Allen Way before running towards Frensham Place where a dispute erupted, sending emergency services racing to the scene.

Paramedics found the 17-year-old boy with a stab wound to his stomach and he was rushed to hospital.

The court heard last week the stabbing occurred during a prearranged fight between the boys.

Hours later about 2.45am, police arrested the alleged stabber at a home in the region and charged him with affray.

He was released on bail on Friday after the court heard he had several mental health needs which could not be treated in custody.

On Tuesday, the boy’s lawyer told the court the charge was laid that morning and she was not in a position to enter pleas for the boy, who appeared alongside his mother and grandmother.

Magistrate Robert Munro adjourned the matter after he asked the teen to tell the court his bail conditions, which include not leaving his home between 10pm and 6am except with a parent, not to contact witnesses and to continue taking medication and attending psychiatric appointments.

He is due to return to court on June 20.
