A call has been put out for young locals to join Fairfield City’s youth advisory committee.

The committee — of about 20 local volunteers aged from 14 to 24 — will advise council on the issues that affect young adults locally.

They will also help plan major events, including the Bring it On festival and Youth Week.

“I encourage local young people to apply for this great opportunity to become ambassadors for their peers while also gaining valuable leadership and practical skills that can help them achieve their future goals,” Mayor Frank Carbone said.

The year-long role acts as a gateway to local government, Cr Carbone added.

The successful members will voice the concerns of Fairfield’s young people at the local government level.
