Lansvale shooting leaves man hospitalised for a month

Police are still hunting for two men after someone was shot in a southwest Sydney unit last month. Now officers are appealing for the public’s help after finding a car 169km away.

A Lansvale shooting has left a man hospitalised in serious condition for a month with police still searching for two men on the run.

The two men had their faces covered when they snuck into a granny flat at Huntingdale Ave, Lansvale at 3.10am on February 13.

The men were armed with a rifle and believed to have shot a man in his stomach.

Emergency services were called soon after to take the man to Liverpool Hospital. As of the time of writing, he is still in hospital in a serious condition.

Fairfield Police officers set up a crime scene and began an investigation.

Detectives seized a green Daewoo Nubira sedan on Elizabeth Street in Tighes Hill, Newcastle, on March 10 that they believe is connected to the case.

They are asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the Lansvale area late on February 12 or early February 13 to contact Fairfield Police Station on 9728 8399 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
