Fairfield man charged over alleged attempted murder of partner
A man has been charged over the alleged attempted murder of his 54-year-old wife at a southwest Sydney home. The woman has undergone emergency surgery.

A man has been charged over the alleged attempted stabbing murder of his wife.
Police responded to reports of a domestic violence-related stabbing at Fairfield about 7.30am Monday, with officers told a 54-year-old woman had been taken to hospital by a family member for treatment to a serious laceration to her throat.
The woman has undergone emergency surgery and remains in Liverpool Hospital.
A crime scene was established at the Fairfield address which was examined by specialist forensic officers, where a large knife was seized.
A 57-year-old man – the woman’s partner – was arrested and taken to Fairfield police station where he was charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
