Eight family members arrested in alleged drug supply, police investigation
Police raided several southwest Sydney homes and arrested eight family members including a 15-year-old girl following an investigation into the supply of heroin and methamphetamine.
Eight relatives have been arrested on drug supply charges as police co-ordinated raids across several southwest Sydney homes.
As part of an investigation into the supply of heroin and methamphetamine, Strike Force Dewed detectives executed search warrants at homes in Bass Hill, Fairfield East, Villawood, Guildford West and Canley Heights yesterday.
The first arrests occurred at the Bass Hill home, where a man, 36, and woman, 43, allegedly threatened police with a knife and machete when they entered the property.
An additional six people at the property were also arrested, including a 15-year-old girl, women aged 35, 36 and 36, and two men, aged 36 and 52 years.
During the searches, police seized a loaded 38 calibre firearm, two loaded pen guns, electronic control devices, over 30 mobile phones, over $100,000 cash, a ballistics vest, numerous knives and drugs including heroin and methylamphetamine.
Acting Superintendent of Liverpool Police Dean Johnstone said he hoped the bust would have a significant impact on the supply of drugs across southwest Sydney.
“It’s concerning that there’s a teenage girl, a 15-year-old girl, in the house,” he said.
