Dyson store Castle Hill: Tech company opens only Australian store

It may look like something from a sci-fi movie but this is in fact the only Dyson store in this hemisphere. We got a sneak peak ahead of its grand opening.

From its minimalist and sleek finishes to its own special service bar, the first Dyson store in the southern hemisphere has opened in Sydney.

The Hills Shire Times went on a sneak preview in the new store ahead of the store’s official opening at the Hills Super Centre on Thursday October 21.

Display walls were decked out with the full range of hair styling tools and cord-free vacuums including the latest V15 Detect.

The V15, which launched in March, includes a green laser to illuminate the super fine particles as small as 10 microns.

It also features a smart screen which can even self detect the site of a blockage.

The store also showcased the latest air purifier technology and popular Supersonic hair dryers.

A team of seven Dyson experts, who are Hills locals, will also give demonstrations, technical assistance and styling tips at the store.

Dyson ANZ Managing Director Glenn Andrew said the Hills district was chosen as the site of the first store because of a “significantly large population” of Dyson owners in the area.

“We really wanted to bring our technology and make it easier and convenient for our existing owners,” Mr Andrew said.

“We felt this was absolutely the right place.”

The managing director said he was very “excited” to have a space for owners to interact with the products and technology.

“We wanted to make sure our technology was not just on display in a glass box but actually in a way for our owners to touch and use it.”

Australia is one of the British technology company’s oldest markets dating back to 1996.

Mr Andrew said the decision to open a store 25 years on was based on an increasing amount of customers wanting to buy direct from the company.

“A number of our owners want to come direct to us and have advice from a Dyson expert.”

Mr Andrew revealed the demo store was the first of a number of stores set to open in Australia in coming years.

“I’m delighted we’re able to put the first one here in the Hills district.”

New Dyson store opens in Castle Hill

The new Dyson store is located at level 1 of the Hills Super Centre in Castle Hill.

Opening hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Sunday, with the closing time extended to 9pm on Thursdays and Fridays.
