The 25-year-old man accused of driving a Holden Commodore into a group of people and killing two young boys in the NSW central west has been charged with a further 12 offences, including two counts of manslaughter.
Police allege Jacob Steven Donn was driving while high on drugs and unlicensed when Shane, 7, and Sheldon Shorey, 6, had their lives cut tragically short on Warne Street in Wellington on January 5.
Mr Donn was arrested on the night of the crash and charged the next day with 14 offences which included dangerous driving causing death and fail to stop at the scene of a crash.
He entered no pleas when he appeared in Dubbo Local Court and was formally refused bail by Magistrate Theresa Hamilton.
On Thursday — a day before Shane and Sheldon’s parents will bury their boys — police said Mr Donn had been charged with 26 offences in total after crash investigators laid fresh charges.
The new offences Mr Donn has been charged with include two counts of manslaughter, drive vehicle with illicit drugs present in drug, two counts of aggravated dangerous driving causing death under the influence of drugs and two counts of aggravated dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.
Donn’s case will return to Dubbo Local Court on March 10.
Funerals for Shane and Sheldon will be held at Pioneer Park in Wellington on Friday.
