Police investigating the execution-style murder of Bandidos bikie boss Shane De Britt have found parts of a gun believed to have been used in the brutal killing.
Public Order and Riot Squad investigators found part of the gun during a search of Pinnacle Reserve at Orange in the NSW central west earlier this month.
On Tuesday, a fourth man was charged with the murder of Mr De Britt, the president of the Bandidos central west chapter who was shot dead at a property on Catombal Road at Eurimbla, 50 kilometres south of Wellington on January 14.
The 38-year-old man was arrested at a home in Orange where a search warrant was later conducted.
He is the fourth person charged over the murder and will face Orange Local Court on Wednesday.
Three men aged 58, 39 and 22 were arrested and charged in Dubbo last month.
All have been refused bail and have been remanded in custody.
Homicide Squad Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Walpole confirmed parts of the shotgun police found at Pinnacle Reserve were believed to be linked to Mr De Britt’s murder.
“This weapon was found in pieces and initial inquiries suggest it may have been used in the shooting murder at Eurimbla in January,” he said.
“Additionally we’ve followed-up on other information received throughout the investigation, which has seen the seizure of seven firearms which as we know, when in the wrong hands, are dangerous and a serious threat to the safety of our community.”’
Detective Walpole appealed for anyone with information about the murder to contact police.
