A Dubbo man who worked as a corrections officer at Wellington jail has pleaded guilty to cocaine supply charges.
In court documents police said Joshua Travers Majdalani supplied 25.1 grams of cocaine at the small town of Geurie, 30 kilometres east of Dubbo, on May 5 last year.
At Dubbo on the same day the 29-year-old was also found with an unauthorised Smith and Wesson replica firearm in his possession.
After initially pleading not guilty, Majdalani has entered guilty pleas to cocaine supply and unauthorised firearm possession charges in Dubbo Local Court.
He also pleaded guilty to dealing with $27,000 in property which was suspected of being the proceeds of crime.
Majdalani has pleaded not guilty to a string of other charges which include steroid supply and being an agent who corruptly received benefits.
Police allege he supplied 8.59 grams of stanozolol and 3.37 grams of oxymetholone at Wellington in 2019.
Court documents state Majdalani is further alleged to have received seven payments totalling $4200 from inmates or associates of inmates of Wellington jail.
According to police, the payments were made in exchange for the introduction and supply of prohibited drugs, steroids, a mobile phone and tobacco while Majdalani was working as a correctional officer.
He has also pleaded not guilty to knowingly taking part in the supply of 50 buprenorphine strips at Wellington.
Details of the circumstances surrounding the crimes Majdalani has pleaded guilty to cannot be revealed because he has pleaded not guilty to the other charges.
The case returns to court for a two-day hearing next week.
Majdalani has been suspended from his work duties while his case is dealt with in court.
